What the name does—and does not—tell you
Kratom comes from the plant Mitragyna speciosa. Beverage names such as seltzer do not tell you the full formula or alkaloid content. Product versions can differ; this guide does not provide dosage instructions, flavor claims or claims about effects.
Important FDA information
FDA warns against kratom use because of serious risks, including liver toxicity, seizures and substance use disorder. FDA also states that kratom cannot lawfully be added to conventional foods and is not lawfully marketed as a dietary supplement. A product being displayed online does not establish FDA approval.
